What is an invoice?

An invoice is the formal document a freelancer or business sends to a client to request payment. It records who is billing (From), who owes (Bill To), every line item with its price, taxes, discounts and the total — plus payment instructions so the client knows exactly how to pay.

How to fill in the invoice — 5 tabs

• Items — choose Hours (services) or Products (qty) mode, add your line items, set tax rate (% or fixed, included or excluded), discount and optional shipping.
• Customer — enter the client's company name, Tax ID, address, phone and email. These appear in the "Bill To" section of the PDF.
• Invoice — set the invoice number (or generate one), issue and due dates, currency (155 options) and terms of payment (e.g. Net 30). Add custom fields like PO Number or Project, a note and an end message.
• Payment — add one or more payment methods: Bank Transfer (IBAN/SWIFT), ACH (US routing + account), PayPal, Payoneer, Wise, Crypto or a custom method.
• Company — fill in your name/company, address and contact. Upload your logo (appears at the top of the PDF) and a signature or stamp (appears at the bottom right).

Hours mode vs Products mode

Switch between modes in the Items tab. Hours mode shows columns Description / Hours / Rate per Hour / Amount — ideal for freelancers billing by the hour. Products mode shows Description / Qty / Unit Price / Amount — better for selling physical goods or fixed-price deliverables. The PDF updates instantly.

Payment methods for freelancers

The Payment tab supports every common method used on platforms like Upwork and Fiverr: Bank Transfer (international IBAN/SWIFT), ACH (US domestic — routing + account number + account type), PayPal, Payoneer, Wise and Crypto. You can add multiple methods to the same invoice so the client can choose.

155 currencies supported

Select your currency in the Invoice tab — from AED to ZWL. The symbol and decimal places update automatically throughout the preview and the PDF. Common symbols ($, €, £, ¥) render directly in the PDF; less common ones use the 3-letter ISO code prefix so they always display correctly.

Your data is saved locally — no account needed

Your company name, address, email and phone are saved in your browser's local storage. Your logo and signature are saved in IndexedDB. Next time you open the tool they load automatically — no account, no cloud, no tracking. All invoice generation runs 100% in your browser; nothing is ever sent to a server.
